21st Tibetan Terminology Meeting Finalises Over 650 Standard Terms.

DHARAMSHALA: The Terminology Desk of the Department of Education, CTA organised a six-day meeting of the High-Level Standardising Board from 14 – 19 January.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss and standardise Tibetan terminology for applications in Administration, Law, Politics, Technology and Environment.

The meeting successfully finalised over 650 standardised Tibetan terminology for the listed applications. This is the 21st meeting of Board and holds a total of three meeting in this financial year and standardised more than 2100 terminology.

The Terminology section of the Department of Education was first instituted under the leadership of the 13th Kashag in 2006. Since then, the Tibetan Terminology Project has finalised and produced 11 volumes of Glossary of Tibetan Standardised Terms.
